Customer Reviews
First of all I don't think it would work very well for presentations. The dot appears very out of focus even at relatively short distances. I don't know if it's just that the eye can't focus this wavelength or if it's the design of the laser. It doesn't seem to have a lens in it like the green one. Supposedly most cheaper lenses are opaque at 405nm so for a 5 dollar laser, what do you expect?
It is capable of making quite a few things fluoresce, which is pretty cool, and also it will instantly "charge up" anything that is glow-in-the-dark. Most white objects, especially paper or clothes, will give off an intense blue light (technically white light at a very high color temperature) if you shine the laser right at them. If you can find something yellow that is fluorescent, the result will be a more natural white light. This is essentially how LED and fluorescent lights work--violet light and yellow phosphor.
If you happen to have blue-blocking glasses, you can point the laser at something white and non-fluorescent, such as the wall or ceiling, to light up the room in the violet light. Through the glasses, only fluorescent objects will be visible (assuming no other light sources other than the laser).
The laser is not focused and weak - mine has double images when it shoots out.
The star constellation is not bad.
The overall construction is cheap. I wouldn't buy it. Look for another product.
